Cordyceps mushroom

Cordyceps (Ophiocordyceps sinensis) has been used for over a thousand years across the world. This fungus is found naturally in the Tibetan Plateau and neighbouring regions, including China, Nepal, Tibet, and India. In the wild, Cordyceps is a fungus that grows on caterpillars high in the Himalayan mountains. We cultivate our cordyceps on a vegan substrate consisting of rice and other nutrients, so our product is vegan friendly. 

Cordyceps are brown or bright orange in colour. They are a beautiful and unusual looking mushroom.  The fruiting body of cordyceps look like long finger-like projections emerging from the substrate on which it grows.  

We really love the beta-glucans, polysaccharides, and sterols that are found in cordyceps mushrooms.
