Voltarol Emulgel 1% 30g contains the active ingredient diclofenac which is from the group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Voltarol Emulgel P 1% w/w Gel is used to relieve pain and reduce swelling in a number of painful conditions affecting the joints and muscles, e.g. sprains, strains and bruises. It is also used to relieve the pain of muscular rheumatism.
Unlike products such as heat patches and cooling gels that work by only cooling or heating the skin, Voltarol Emulgel P contains a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) called diclofenac which targets pain at its source. Emulgel technology helps the gel to penetrate deeply into the skin to enhance delivery of diclofenac to the point of pain. Applying the gel 3 or 4 times a day produces a reservoir of the active ingredient diclofenac in your skin to provide a sustained source of diclofenac. The gel works by blocking production of some of the body’s chemicals that cause pain, tenderness and swelling (inflammation) – so relieving your pain to help restore your mobility!
The Emulgel combines the benefit of a moisturising cream with the properties of a gel. The gel helps the active ingredient diclofenac get through the skin barrier as well as offering a cooling effect to ease the painful and red areas of the body.
